A New York Nonprofit

Good food, rescued. Working families, lifted.

We pick up surplus food from restaurants and grocery stores and get it to local food pantries — so it feeds neighbors instead of filling dumpsters. It's the first step in helping working people get unstuck.

The problem

A job used to mean stability. For millions of working people, it no longer does.

By several national surveys, about six in ten Americans report living paycheck to paycheck — earning enough to get by, but with nothing left to absorb a setback or to invest in getting ahead.

When every dollar is already spoken for, you can't take a lower-paying job with a future, or step back for training, or weather a slow month. People aren't failing. They're stuck.

What we do

Right now, we tackle the most immediate cost a family faces: food.

We rescue surplus food from restaurants and grocery stores — food that's perfectly good but would otherwise be thrown away — and deliver it to established food pantries and distribution sites. Less goes to waste. More reaches the people who need it. And every grocery bill we help lighten is money a family can put toward staying afloat.

How it works

From a back door to a kitchen table.

Four-step process: set aside surplus, request a pickup, safe transport, delivered to pantries

The bigger vision

Food is the start, not the finish.

Our long-term vision is to help working people get unstuck on two fronts at once: cutting expenses through food and other basic-needs support, and building skills by connecting people to training, education, and resources that open the door to higher-paying work. More money in pocket today; more opportunity tomorrow.

Our two-fold mission: cut expenses today, build skills for tomorrow
